Frontend Developer –Full Time Permanent position.

Hybrid role based in City Centre.

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled IT Software Developer to join our dynamic team. This is a key role in our Digital Delivery team and will play a crucial role in the delivery of the strategic ambition for our client. You will develop and deliver technical solutions for the Client digital asset portfolio within a customer-centric culture. As part of the team, you will utilise your skills to enhance the experience and performance of digital properties across the organisation.

What you will help us achieve

You will create digital user experiences across the breadth of client digital estate. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams to develop web application interfaces and interactive prototypes to support our key commercial and experience objectives.

Your expertise in frontend web development frameworks, Content Management Systems (CMS) and software development best practice, will enable you to turn our complex financial product offering into consumable, intuitive and engaging experiences for our customers.

You will work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, UX and UI Design, QA, Business Stakeholders and the wider IT community to develop best-in-class digital experiences.

Role responsibilities

· Lead in the design and development of digital customer journeys primarily on client website.

· Contribute to the planning activities involved in any strategic initiatives, including scoping and sizing

· Strong critical analysis and act as an expert in all design and code reviews. Carry out peer code reviews of other team members’ design and coding changes.

· Represent the team in workshops to ensure the best solution is agreed.

· Provide training and mentoring to other team members as required.

· Work collaboratively with Business Partners and engage with 3rd party vendors as needed

· Challenge team standards, processes and best practices. Strongly contribute to retrospective and continuous improvement initiatives.

· Learn and develop new skills and technologies as required in the organisation and keep up to date with developments in the industry

What you will need to be successful in the role

· An outstanding professional with proven experience building engaging digital experiences.

· Excellent collaborative skills and the ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team, working closely with design, product and digital marketing teams within an agile team environment.

· In-depth knowledge and understanding of frontend technologies to optimise user experience, business and commercial objectives.

· Data-driven problem solving and decision-making skills based on sound commercial rationale.

· Eagerness to keep developing skills, staying up-to-date with latest standards, trends and emerging technologies.

· Influencing skills to drive best practices, set standards and produce clean, efficient and reusable code.

· Excellent analytical skills, productive under pressure and adaptable to changing priorities.

Desired Knowledge / Experience / Skills

· BSc degree in Computer Science or similar

· 3+ years hands-on coding experience using React, client-side JavaScript, jQuery, HTML & CSS.

· Highly skilled in coding mobile and responsive designs to a high fidelity with attention to the finer aesthetic details and user interactions.

· Experience with Storybook and Content Management Systems (CMS) highly desirable.

· Experience with JSON over REST based data exchange, browser testing and debugging complex systems.

· Understand UX principles and methodologies including User-Centred Design and Design Thinking.
