DESCRIPTION
Linux Engineer
Dublin/Remote position
6 month initial contract
Responsibilities and Experience:
- Redhat Linux VMware template design, installation, setup, and administration in line with best practise
- Troubleshooting Linux, VMware & SAN related issues
- Experience in security design of RedHat images including hardening to CIS Benchmark Level 1
- Experience in Satellite and creation of a fully documented end to end process for Red Hat Linux patch management
- Ensure Red Hat Linux both virtual and physical are kept up to date in line with patch policy set out by IT Security
- Experience with automation tools e.g. Ansible preferable
- Provide release management and change controls for system upgrades & product enhancements
- Implement SAN connectivity and LUN provisioning for new requirements and requests for additional storage
- Documentation and knowledge transfer as appropriate
- Oracle DBA knowledge would be an advantage
