DESCRIPTION

The Role:

One of our client is looking for a Domain Architect (DM) to join its Senior management team reporting to the Head of Architect and have overall responsibility for the Domain IT Architecture, Proposal/Business Cases, Solution/Technology Selection and Architecture practice within the team.

The DM will have Domain Architect accountabilities (HR, Actuarial) and be associated with a specific Corporate Functions business domain maintaining a strong relationship and thought leadership with key business stakeholders in that area.

Responsibilities and Skills:

  • Management of pipeline of Architecture/Design specific Business Requests (e.g. Technology Selection, Vendor RFP Process, Design Options, Business Cases, Supplier/Contract Risk Assessments)
  • Oversight (direction, review and sign off) of such Business Requests, Solution Designs and other Business Requests for Architecture impact
  • Ownership/delivery of selected Business Requests
  • Own the practice of Architecture spanning all disciplines, engagement model and tooling
  • Leadership/mentoring/coaching of the Architects on Architecture practice
  • Ownership of the implementation of the organisation’s mandated architecture governance and technology risk processes
  • Ownership of key company initiatives that impact the function’s IT landscape e.g. application rationalisation, cost optimisation, significant mandated changes
  • Develop a close working relationship with Architecture peers across European Entities and within the Global Corporate Technology function
  • Maintain a strong relationship and alignment with key internal and external IT suppliers and their equivalent lead Architects
  • Represent (direct or through delegate) the function at the relevant Architecture Community Forums
  • Domain Architect for a given Corporate Function:
  • Establish and maintain Architecture Vision, Strategies, Roadmaps, Technology Health and optimal Total Cost of Ownership of Solutions
  • Establish and maintain standards, frameworks and proven patterns
  • Recommend innovations and keep up with Industry trends
  • Architecture Leadership and Governance
  • Architect key solutions for a project/business requests

The HOA will work closely with the team’s Service & Change Manager, Technical Domain Architect, Delivery Leader, Analysts, Developers and other Domain/Solution Architects on a day to day basis to achieve the above.

The Person:

The successful candidate will possess the following essential experience:-

  • 12+ Years proven track record working in IT in both Applications and Infrastructure areas
  • Experience with SAP4Hana, SuccessFactors, Dynamics and salesforce.
  • Ability to operate at the enterprise/portfolio level as well as deep into a solution
  • Practitioner in Enterprise, Solution and Software Architecture
  • Experience of proposing business cases, planning and architecture oversight for small to large scale systems implementations, projects and programmes
  • Experience of “governance light and value heavy” applying just enough architecture to add value and materiality and avoid process/documentation heavy practices
  • Experience of applying architecture in agile delivery environment
  • A proven track record in working effectively as part of a team within formal project management methodologies and processes
  • Excellent communications skills with a track record in communicating at all levels from Executive to Team level, IS and business stakeholders. Excellent written skills are also essential
  • A proven track record in stakeholder management at all levels in the organisation including Executive and senior staff, within both IS and the business, project delivery and support staff, 3rd party vendors and controller functions within the organisation
  • The drive and willingness to continuously develop your knowledge of the architecture landscape and evaluate our environment critically so as to ensure continuous improvement and help protect our environment

The successful candidate will possess the following desirable experience:-

  • Systems and technology used within Financial Sector
  • Development and implementation of the “practice” of Architecture to team members
  • Designing and implementing business systems/technologies shared across multiple entities
  • 3rd level degree in IT / computer science or related field
