Actuarial Systems Development Architect (Prophet) 

Our client, a leading insurance firm in Dublin City Centre is actively looking for a Systems Architect with a strong knowledge with Actuarial systems in particular with Prophet, for a long term daily rate contract. Excellent rate on offer for the right candidate

The role will report to the European Technology Leader and will work closely with key subject matter experts within IT and Actuarial and the key programme stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design application architecture to support all European modelling and reporting requirements. This architecture has the FIS Prophet architecture (Modelling, Engine and Repository) at its core.

  • The Architect will support technology and design decisions on:
    • Effective orchestration including job scheduling, prioritisation and load distribution across compute grid
    • Budgeting and projection tooling
    • Assumptions Management tooling
    • BI data analytics requirements
    • Optimisation and standardisation of load/extract capabilities for data repositories for both modelled and non-modelled datasets
    • Disaster recovery
  • Contribute to the architecture design and operational considerations for IFRS17 Contract Service Margin (CSM) calculations and use within entity actuarial processes.
  • Define applicable application roles and access controls
  • Contribute to decision on source control tooling and process for prophet code management
  • Support the resulting infrastructure and application platform provisioning and roll out
  • Support and deliver knowledge transfer where appropriate
  • Contribute to the sustainment proposal of SLA, roles and accountabilities
Necessary Qualifications/Skills
  • 5+ years as an FIS Prophet Architect/Consultant
  • Experience in leading design of optimal and standardised configuration for actuarial systems
  • Strong Knowledge of FIS’s suite of actuarial modelling tools; Prophet, Data Conversion System (DCS), Prophet Repositories
  • Experience of both on premise and cloud infrastructure hosting
  • Experience with orchestration tools and techniques for model execution
  • Understanding of best practice SDLC processes for actuarial systems
  • Experience integrating with Legacy systems and non-prophet datasets
  • Communication of documentation, and getting business approval for same
  • Experience working with recognised IT delivery processes and methodology
  • Excellent team player

  • Ability to set and work to strict project deadlines
