My Client, a leading financial services firm in Dublin is actively looking for a Senior Agile Project Manager for a permanent role with Hybrid working options available.

Role Description

The Agile Project Manager is responsible for leading a number of Application Delivery projects for the clients line of Business. He or she works closely with various IT and business leaders, project team members and external parties, to ensure projects are correctly chartered, planned and executed.  He or she is accountable to the Head of IT and Portfolio Delivery Leaders in the management of project scope, budget, schedule and in meeting the expectations of the Sponsor and IT leaders.

 

The Agile Project Manager will also work closely with Portfolio and System Architects, Analysts, Technology Specialists, Quality Assurance and Software Developers. He or she will conform to approved methodologies and standards in delivering project management that is compliant with the clients best practice and standards.

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • The ability to deliver large enterprise IS projects in a fully agile environment.
  • An excellent understanding of continuous integration build, release and change management techniques, incident management and production support processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage complex IS delivery using a variety of Project Management methodologies.
  • Ensure solutions adhere to present and future business objectives.
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships.
  • Manage system development priorities and delivery schedule.

Specific Duties:

  • Understand and manage all aspects of the scrum team deliverables.
  • Agree priorities with key Business leaders.
  • Work with business partners and team to translate the business strategy or roadmap into project backlog items.
  • Lead delivery focusing on the highest priority business deliverables first.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the agile team(s) apply best of breed software engineering practices including but not limited to – Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous
  • Deployment practices, unit and regression test automation, delivery of NFR, adherence to standards.
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies during the initiation, planning, execution, and closure of projects, ensuring compliance with company standards and Agile practices.
  • Represent the team through all areas of communication with key stakeholders including verbal, written reports, presentations, steering committees etc.
  • Deliver on time, on budget to the expected quality.
  • Manage the project RACI log and the project budget.
  • Conduct project ‘Lessons Learnt’ and create recommendations that will improve future project delivery.
  • Plan and manage the project through all phases of the chosen project life cycle.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years I.T. industry experience with at least 5 years as a full life-cycle Project Manager on high profile and innovative technical enterprise solutions.
  • Experience delivering software as an Agile Scrum Master.
  • Experience of managing multiple parties, including Senior I.S. staff, and 3rd party Vendors.
  • Experience in communicating and influencing at all levels within an organisation.
  • Experience in planning and organising resources and tasks.
  • Experience developing milestone and roadmap plan and communicating to key Stakeholders.
  • Good knowledge of System Architectures, Software Engineering, and DevOps / Agile practices.
  • Strong competence in Strategic Thinking, Collaboration, Communication, Problem Solving, Working on own initiative.
  • Excellent knowledge of formal project management methodologies and processes.
  • Practical experience of the application development life cycle (Waterfall & Agile).
  • Proficient user of MS Office tools, in particular MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, SharePoint.
  • Excellent professional written and verbal communicator.

Necessary Qualifications/Skills:

  • 3rd level qualification (honours) in Business, Finance or Technology related discipline.
  • Fluent in English – written and verbal.

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • A good working knowledge of the German language and the German market would be an advantage.
  • Project/programme management certification an advantage.
  • Experience of SAFe would be an advantage.
  • Previous experience in the Financial Services Industry.
  • Experience working in geographically distributed teams.
  • Experience managing and delivering a mix of technical Applications & Server projects including integration and data migration projects using .NET environment (C#, SQL Server, SQL Data Warehouse, ETL etc.)
