Project Manager – IT PMO (contract role, hybrid remote, onsite 3x per week close by Dublin Airport)
My client seeks an experienced Project Manager, with a proven track record in the delivery of technology-driven products and services. This role will report to the Senior Project Management Team Leads within the IT PMO.
Key Responsibilities
- The IT Project manager will work within the PMO team to provide business analysis, solution design, and project management support for the delivery of the IT program.
- Supporting Business teams to create requirements documentation and Business Cases.
- Demonstrate innovation in presenting solution options that marry the strategic objectives to meet the business requirements, that are fit for purpose, value for money, and deliver quality customer experience.
- Working with the Procurement department in the management of RFI, RFP, and Tender processes.
- Proactive active communications and management of key stakeholders across the business.
- Planning and tracking for multiple parallel projects, of varying complexity.
- Developing detailed resource plans for projects ensuring correct skills are assigned ensuring project success.
- Regular project status reporting, including Risk/Issue Management, while assisting the Senior Project Management Team Leads within the IT PMO.
- Ensure the appropriate level of governance is applied in line with our standards and policies.
- Scheduling and chairing of regular project steering committees.
- Manage all project-related expenditures ensuring the project is delivered on or under budget.
- Definition and effective implementation of project governance mechanisms to support the delivery of both project and strategic objectives.
- Experience in Test planning, execution, and implementation management.
- Ensure projects are closed correctly and in line with the agreed scope, timelines, and budget.
- Handover to Technical Services for ongoing Support.
- Participation in post-implementation reviews and Benefits realization exercise.
- Supporting the business with Change Management to adopt new technology to realize business benefits.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- 3 – 5 Years’ experience in an IT Project Management Role.
- Proven project delivery experience to include supplier management and financial governance.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, including proven ability to establish and run effective Steering Committees.
- Ability to adapt to a very dynamic business environment with multiple competing priorities.
- Structured Project Management skills covering the complete life cycle and use of appropriate tools.
- Working knowledge of project-related metrics and measures.
- 3rd party management – negotiation skills, knowledge of IT contracts, management against SLAs
- Excellent interpersonal skills as a self-starter in a team environment; highly motivated to exploit opportunities by leveraging internal and external partners.
- PMI (PMP) project management certification is desired but not essential.
- Knowledge of Project Management software, specifically Microsoft Project.
- Knowledge of basic finance is required specifically around Capital and operational expenditure.
- Proven ability to manage projects that require the procuring of technical solutions through the RFI, RFP, and OJEU processes would be an advantage.
