This role will be a key interface between the business and IT, also Finance Systems knowledge is required.  The successful candidate will be working as part of the MIS project team and reporting to the Finance Strategy IT Workstream lead. 

Role requirements include:

  • Understand project strategy and implement according to that strategy
  • Detailed Business Scoping and Planning of phased approach to delivery
  • Develop the target state processes in conjunction with the business SME/stakeholders
  • Identify key data sets and business owners and ensure data compliance e.g. data protection / PII controls and sign offs
  • Challenge the status quo of current state operation, ensure project is focused on the right problems, encourage transformation in ways of thinking, future proofs system
  • Ownership and resolution of business design queries and issues.
  • Ensure revised/new process controls are fully documented and in place
  • Work with the business SMEs and IT to ensure the priority detailed system requirements are understood, captured, QA’d and implemented
  • Ensure the system is designed and implemented to ensure fit for purpose and strategic enabler
  • Planning and management of testing phase of the project inc key test deliverables (strategy, plans, summary reports) and required sign offs
  • Manage the implementation of change with the business using change management best practice to ensure effective adoption
  • Effective communication plans defined and executed
  • Develop and gain approval of a sustainment model for operational support

Suitable candidates will have:

  • Experience of finance planning and reporting processes and working with Finance SMEs
  • Experience of implementing financial MIS systems
  • Experience of leading role in a business and IT change type project shaping, planning, executing and reporting.
  • Change management experience
  • Project plan development, leadership and execution experience

 The ideal candidate will preferably have:

  • Held Finance roles in the past
  • Experience of “transformational” change type projects
  • Test Management experience
  • Broad understanding of life assurance/health insurance/investment management
  • Experience of cloud/saas based finance systems and IT suppliers
